3 years already?!

It's hard to believe that it's been already been 3 years since we were with about 40 of our closest friends and family celebrating our wedding day on the beach. Happy Anniversary to us! :) ...and with that, a trip down memory lane with just a few of our favorite pictures from 4/29/06! Here's to many more!

Buffett, Big Feet, and Baby Bedding

Joey & I had a great time at Jimmy Buffett last weekend although I left before the concert after being out there in the heat for 5 hours, I'd had about all I could handle. Unfortunately I only managed to snag this one picture of us when I was leaving (and dropping Joey back off on my way home - he only lasted another 3 or so hours and I came back to get him)

It's been quite hot and it was a busy week so unfortunately my feet have been a bit swollen, but hopefully putting them up most of the weekend (aside from a few errands and our day long childbirth class tomorrow) will help. I haven't taken a ton of pregnant pictures, but here I am at 34 weeks

...and "Granny" Habluetzel has finished the Baby Bedding and it's now in place - although I'm not 100% sure the bumper pads were meant for this crib (although I know they won't be in place too long for safety reasons) - either that or I'm just not sure I undertsand how to put them on right. Oh, the joys of being a new mom-to-be. :)

A little more character

After searching on Ebay and finally purchasing some knobs we like, we discovered they didn't exactly fit onto the dresser. Just a minor setback though as it's nothing a drill can't fix and now I think the dresser looks better (thanks for the idea, Christina). :) The picture isn't the best quality, but I think in person it really looks great and adds a little character to a new dresser so that it better goes with the old crib.

We say a little prayer

...or a big prayer. So many things to pray for lately - health for Baby Shoup being an obvious one, but we have a few more prayer requests to put out there these days. Today, I ask you to pray for Pat, our media director at Ward. It's been a whirlwind as it's all happened so fast, but she's basically having at least part of one of her lungs removed today. We are confident all will go well, but there will no doubt be some distracted thoughts around our office today.

Pat's Caring Bridge Site

We also send prayers out to some of Joey's extended family in Mississippi. His cousin Leanne had an emergency c-section last week (at about 28 weeks) to premature identical twin girls. Unfortunately, the smaller of the 2, Layla Grace, did not make it. Please continue to pray for Leanne and Brian, as well as Briley Kate who continues to fight.

Home Updates

Thanks to a last minute reschedule of the Childbirth class Joey & I were supposed to have on Saturday, we were able to get a lot more done around the house than we expected. I started out re-alphabetizing and organizing all of our CD's (which required a Sunday trip to Ikea for more storage boxes) which Joey thought was a crazy task until it was all done and he now knows where all his CD's are, and which ones he only has a case or the CD for. While I was starting that, he got caught up in an HGTV show and while I had mentioned it quite some time ago, he finally realized just how easy it would be to add hardware to all of our kitchen cabinets so off to Home Depot he went. The result looks great and while there is 1 drawer left to do (the screws that came with the drawer pulls weren't long enough so I had to swing by and pick up some longer ones, but unfortunately 2 didn't break off the way they needed to), we're so pleased:

In addition, before our trip to Miami I had met my uber-creative friend, Lisa, during a lunch break to pick up the art she painted for Baby Shoup's room. I still need to adjust where the nails are on the wall (I just plunked the 4 pieces up on the wall where there previously hang 4 flower pictures so they're kind of crooked now as well), but the wall above the crib now has some additional color. Thanks so much, Lisa for the beautiful colorful hearts! I guess while I had said there isn't a real theme to the nursery, LOVE is a very suitable theme!

30 week belly

My hair had been windblown by the humidity and the golf cart ride around for pictures, but here's a picture of me and my seemingly huge belly (at least in that particular dress). I"m hoping the professional pictures have my hair looking a bit better, but we'll have to wait and see...
